Nicholas Dean Sanders was born in Charleston, WV on November 2, 2000. He was 21 years old when he passed away unexpectedly in Madison, WV, where he resided, on April 7, 2022.
Nick was preceded in death by his dad, Dean Sanders; his mamaw’s, Ann Sanders and Doris Jefferson; his granny, Neva Dillon; his uncle, Mark Smith; and his cousins, Roger “Bubby” Ball and Sawyer Jefferson.
He is survived by his mom and stepdad, Nancy and Johnny Simpkins; his daughter Journee Grace Niday, who he loved immensely; his sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Anthony Setliff; his brother Chris (Amanda) Sanders; his nephew and niece, Bryson and Aneva Setliff, who he thought the world of; his stepmom, Lavonna Sanders; his papaws, Tommy Jefferson and Marvin Sanders; along with several aunts, uncles, and many, many cousins.
If you had the pleasure of meeting Nick, then you would agree that he was one of a kind. Between his sense of humor, witty comebacks and wild stories, Nick could always put a smile on your face and keep you laughing. Nick was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He had a crooked smile that could lite up any room and deep down, the biggest heart.
To us, his name will forever be,
The key that unlocks a memory
Of a loved one gone, but cherished yet
A beloved face, we will never forget.
Goodbyes are not forever,
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean I’ll miss you,
Until we meet again!
We take comfort in prayer and our prayer is that Nick is now at peace with our Heavenly Father!
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 15 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Scotty Elswick officiating. Burial will follow in Lively Cemetery, Sod, WV.
Visitation one hour prior to the service.
