Nova Lillian Adkins, 96, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday January 30, 2019. She was born to the late Don and Pearl Stowers on October 10, 1922. She was preceded in death by husbands James May and Anderson Adkins, sons James Allen May (Buddy) and Randy Gail May, and grandson Jason Allen Kuhn.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughter, Don May (Becky) of Springdale, Arkansas, Sharon Ball (Jeff) of Bob White, Larry May of Wharton, and Todd Adkins (Joanna) of Hickory, North Carolina. Grandchildren Rachel May, Amanda Walls (Darin), Brandy May, Travis May (Corena), Jessica Ayres (Scott), Jennifer Mooney (Art), Chelsea Whisnant (Hunter), Brittany May, and Sarah May, Jamie May, Brooke May as well as great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lillian is survived by brothers Richard Stowers, Daryl Stowers, and sister Anna Lou Miller.
Lillian was always a hard worker and determined to do things her way up until her final breathe. She loved to flea market and collect her treasures including frogs.
The family would like to thank Hillcrest Health Care Center for the love and care shown to Lillian in her final days.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Danny Holstein officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 pm for friends. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
