Ollie Burns, 87, of Ottawa, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior December 14, 2013.
He was the son of the late Adam and Edna Burns. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Mary; sisters, Belle, Olive and Virginia; and brothers, Omer and J. B.
He leaves behind him his wife, Donna Sue; daughter, Jonnie Mae (Jack) Holton of Brook Park, Ohio; sons, Ollie Jr. (Mary) Burns of Citra, Florida, Jerry (Janet) Burns of Clothier; brothers, Wayne Lee of East Lynn and William Burns of Pecks Mill; step-son, Kevin (Audi) Tipton; step-daughters, Vicki (Roy) Williamson and Lucy (Ron) Nelson; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nine step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
He was retired from Westmoreland Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA. He served in WWII in Germany and France. Most of all he was a Christian and attended Laurel City Freewill Baptist Church.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Laurel City Freewill Baptist Church, Ottawa with the Rev. Don Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby, WV.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville.
