Pamela Sue Thompson Harper, 73, of Madison, WV, dearly loved mother, nannie, sister, and aunt, departed this world on July 8, 2024.
She was born on October 26, 1950 to Clyde and Ivory Gunnoe Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Harper; parents Clyde and Ivory Gunnoe Thompson; brothers Jack Thompson, Allen Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Richard Thompson and Michael Thompson; sisters Elizabeth “Libby” Vickers, Barbara Fairchild, Ruth Scott, and Shirley Faye Thompson.
She is survived by her sister Margaret Starkey; her daughters Melissa (Richard) Knight and Holly (Shawn) Miller and son Eric (Heather) Harper; grandchildren John Paul Abbott, Sarah (Jacob) Blosser, Alex (Kayla Vaughn) Miller, Hayden Miller, Griffin Miller, Ivory Harper and Lucy Harper; great grandchildren Cooper, Penelope, and Kane Blosser; and by a host of nieces and nephews.
Pamela was a lifelong member of the Madison Baptist Church, through which she volunteered at the church’s food pantry. She retired from Boone County Community Organization, where she worked for twenty-five years. She was a member of the Madison Wildwood Garden Club.
She was raised on The Thompson Farm, with her ten siblings and had many happy childhood memories. She was very proud to say five generations were raised on The Thompson Family Farm. Pam had many passions in life. She loved horses, traveling, and shopping. Her strongest passion was FAMILY. Much of her time was spent enjoying family vacations, attending grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, and supporting her loved one’s endeavors in any way that she could. She also enjoyed spending time with her best friend and partner in crime, Alice Rider.
To know Pam was to love her and she will Greatly be missed!
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at Madison Baptist Church in Madison, WV with Jim Butcher and Bill Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV is assisting the family.
