Pamela Jean Brown

October 1, 1949 — November 11, 2024

Danville, WV

Pamela Jean Brown (Snider), aged 75 of Danville, WV, passed away on November 11, 2024. Born on October 1, 1949, in Madison, WV, she was the beloved daughter of the late Franklin Snider and Betty P. Snider (Little).

Pamela was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Wesley Snider and Vera Louise Snider (Glover), and Nile Carpenter Little and Charlotte May Little (Horner), and her former spouse and friend, Lovell "Buddy" Brown Jr., of Charleston, WV.

Pamela graduated with honors from Scott High School in Madison, WV. Pamela returned to school when her daughter, Jennifer, attended Southern WV Community and Technical College. Pamela enrolled, carpooled, shared courses, studied for exams, and wrote term papers alongside, Jennifer. Pamela's hope was to earn a degree in Criminal Justice then, further her education in Psychology.

Prior to a long-standing disability, Pamela held many occupations early in her career including, a bookkeeper for Riverside Motors, ticket manager for the Rialto Theater, clerk for the Boone County Tax Department, dispatcher for the Boone County Sheriff, tax consultant for H&R Block, and Pamela assisted with numerous family-owned businesses in southern WV including a restaurant, car wash, grocery store, laundromat, and boarding house.

Pamela loved music and she was an avid listener of Classic Rock. When it was Jennifer's turn to learn to drive as a teenager, Pamela loved to turn up the radio and it made all of those driving lessons a lot more memorable.

Pamela enjoyed watching movies too, especially comedies, and she delighted in the stories (and inside jokes) her granddaughter, McKenna, shared with her about life, love, college, working, and moving from place to place, with two adorably lazy cats.

Pamela was known for her warmth, generosity, and a loving spirit that she offered unconditionally. Even amidst so many unexpected health challenges that life had ultimately brought her way; Pamela never wavered in her concern for others. She continued to support her family and friends, and would always extend a helping hand to those in need.

Pamela whole-heartedly believed in autonomy, dignity, and a person's right to choose the life they wanted.

Pamela's legacy will be one of unyielding kindness, charity, strength, faith, and compassion. Pamela will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Pamela is survived by her daughter, Jennifer L. Cadle, son-in-law, Robert E. Cadle, and granddaughter, McKenna R. Vance of Charleston, WV. Pamela is also survived by her aunt, Anna M. Kimble (Little) of Aliquippa, PA and many other extended family members of Pamela's late parents, Franklin and Betty P. Snider.

In lieu of flowers, donations on behalf of Pamela, are greatly appreciated at any of the organizations that she considered to be so valuable and important: National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, and Breakthrough TID (formerly: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

Thank You.
