Pat Shelor Mayo

Pat Shelor Mayo passed away on December 14, 2015, in Greenville, SC.
Pat was born in Glen Alum, WV on March 17, 1932. He was a graduate of Logan High School in Logan, WV and attended the University of Louisville and North East Louisiana. Pat was a member of the Logan High School Sports Hall of Fame and also played football in college.
He served in the US Army in Germany from June 1952 until May 1955. Pat spent his working career with the C&O, Chessie System and CSX Railroads. He retired in 1994. He was preceded in death by his father, Harve C Mayo and his mother Irma T. Mayo both of Branchland WV. Also his two brothers, William C. Mayo of Logan WV and Raymond S. Mayo who passed while serving his country in WW II.
He is survived by his sister in law, Ruby D. Mayo of Logan, WV, his nephew Thomas R. Mayo (Karen) of Greer, SC, niece Pam Mayo Eschleman (Joe) of Hebron, KY. He has two great nephews, Andy Mayo(Sarah) of Topeka, KS and Matt Mayo (Christina) of Columbia, SC. He has two great nieces, Victoria Ahrens (Andy) of Louisville, KY and Michelle Fell (Brian) of Louisville, KY.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday December 18, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in Fairview Memory Gardens, Hamlin, WV where a military graveside service will be conducted.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
