Patricia Sue Bias

Patricia Sue Bias, 82, of West Hamlin went home to be with her Lord on August 27, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert L. Bias. She was born in Baileysville, WV to the late Virgil Lane and Edna Cook Shields on November 1, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Karen L. Blankenship and her only son Robert “Bobby” Bias Jr.

She was a longtime member of the West Hamlin United Methodist and of the Order of Eastern Star Hamlin Chapter No. 106. Patty owned and operated Patty’s Beauty Shop for many years in West Hamlin.

She is survived by three daughters who will miss her dearly; Ann Sowards (David) of Salt Rock; Sonja L. Cooper (Mike) of West Hamlin; Sandra S. Davis (Rick) of Branchland. She had 8 grandchildren, Anthony, Robbie, Megan, Matthew, Katie, Hannah, Emily and Jacob. She had 6 great grandchildren with one on the way. Also survived by one brother-in-law, Danny Blankenship of Pineville, WV and four first cousins she held dear to her heart; Morris Davis of Brenton, WV, Robert “Big Bob” Davis of Louisville, Ky, Cathy Cline of St. Petersburg, Fla. And Charline Cookie of Pineville, WV.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin with Rev. Tom Jeffrey officiating. The burial will be in the Green Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
