Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Rowsey Kennedy 82 of St. Albans, won the battle of Alzhiemer’s Disease, on March 2, 2016 with strength, courage, as well as a sense of humor, and went home to be with God.
She was a kind and giving spirit who never knew a stranger. She also will be remembered for her beautiful smile and will be greatly missed by all the people whose life she touched.
Preceding her in death are her husband, James W. Kennedy (Ponce), her parents, Aubrey (JJ) and Hazel Powers Rowsey and brothers Doug and Phil Rowsey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Robin Kennedy of Lower Falls, Jay Kennedy (Birgit) of Boynton Beach, FL, Patrick Kennedy of St Albans, and Julia Black (Byron) of Romance, her grandchildren; Kristin, Will and Byron Patrick Black, Amanda Kennedy (Elijah), Jamie Kennedy, David Kennedy, (Verena), and Meyrem Bender (Andy), great grandchildren, Luke and Pia Kennedy and Cheyanne Kennedy, her very special friend Paul Hardy, a special friend Nancy Armstrong and her canine companion Mr. Jingles.
She was employed as a secretary at Banker’s Life and Casualty for 34 years, a life time member of South Charleston Junior Woman’s Club and for many years, attended All Saints Episcopal Church.
The family would like to express deepest gratitude to all of Mom’s wonderful caregivers. Your devotion and love is very much appreciated, as you became members of our family.
Patricia will sadly be missed and forever in all of our hearts.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Marks Episcopal Church, St. Albans with visitation at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service with Reverend Loretta Isiah officiating.
Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.
