Patsy Setser

Patsy Wooten Setser of Wharton passed away at her home on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the age of 83. Psalms 118:24, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” II Timoth 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Patsy was born in Prenter on April 27, 1941, and was a long-time member of the Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church. Patsy prided herself with cooking, working many years at various restaurants and even previously owning a diner before retiring and finishing out her life as a homemaker.

Patsy was preceded in death by her mother and father Maggie Wooten and Sidney Wooten, Husband, Wayne Setser, Sisters Lois Garrett and Dorislea Abbott, Brother Charles Wooten and son in law Douglas Brown. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Pamela Brown of Wharton, Grandson Ira Rash of Wharton, Sisters Mary Jane Engle of Pensacola Florida and Dr. Connie Dawson of Lincoln Nebraska, Brother George Wooten of Havelock North Carolina and a host of extended family and in-laws. 

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to friends and family for the love and support throughout Patsy’s illness. 

Mrs. Setser’s body will be cremated, and a memorial and burial of her cremains will be held at a later date at Hatfield Cemetery.
