Paul H. Holstein, 84, of Camp Creek was born March 17, 1933 and entered into his eternal resting place on Thursday, August 24, 2017 after a short illness.
He was retired from Westmoreland Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the VFW. Paul was loved by many, loved meeting new people and loved to talk and tell silly jokes. He always had a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, James Howard; parents, Millard and Grace Holstein; three brothers, Lyle, Owen and Barney Holstein; and two sisters, Mary Jane and Betty Wood.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Bernice; his daughter, Regina (Steve) Hoff; his son, Alney (Yvonne) Holstein; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren which were the light of his life, grandchildren, Nikita (Shane) Queen, Emily Hoff, and Zachary (Emily) Holstein, great-grandchildren, Brayden and Mackenna Queen, Kingston Grant and due in December, Avery Taylor; sister, Phyllis Huffman of Sissonville; and many nieces and nephews.
Pops, as he was known to many, will be truly missed by family and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 28 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Ray Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 Madison, West Virginia.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
