Peggy Sue Johnson
March 1, 1939 — January 11, 2017
Peggy Sue “Bissie” Johnson 77 of Mud River went home to be with her heavenly Father on January 10, 2017, after a long illness. She was born March 1, 1939 and was the daughter of Lonnie C. and Ruby (Hager) Roberts of Mud River.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Berry, and brothers, Leon, Billy, Jackie, Jimmie and Drexel Roberts and her precious daughter Connie Gayle Johnson.
She is survived by one sibling, Betty Bias of Mud River, her loving husband of 60 years, Jimmie Lee Johnson, Sr., her children, Johnnie (Bernadine) Johnson of Cleveland, OH, Jimmie Lee Johnson, II of Foster, Barbara (Clayton) Dillon of Cox’s Fork, Joyce Cleary of Drawdy, Tammy Ball of Mud River, and Larry (Tomma) Johnson of Racine, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Peggy was a homemaker and she devoted her life to her family. She dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Joe Easter and Kenneth Dunlap officiating.
Burial will follow in Roberts Cemetery, Mud River.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
