Phillip Maurice Cook 77 passed away on January 1, 2013 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born August 19, 1935 to Hubert Cook and Allie Adkins Cook of Bald Knob, WV and was the youngest of their five sons. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Glynn Cook, Donald Cook and Oliver Cook. After graduating from Van High School he joined the U.S. Air Force. After his service, he was employed by United Air Lines in 1959 and worked in Cleveland, OH, San Francisco, CA and Orlando, FL. He retired in 1993 and moved to Cape Coral, FL with his wife to explore various hobbies, including genealogy and cooking. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Turner Cook, son Robert Cook and wife Frenily, of Newark, CA, daughter Elizabeth Cook Hansen of Cape Coral, FL, daughter, Felicia Morales of Newark, CA, three granddaughters, Xanthie Cook, Sarah Hanson, Aisha Cook and a brother Delmar Cook of Madison, WV. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Rev. Tom Bias officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
