Rachel Watts

Rachel Williamson Watts was born March 22, 1941, to the late Leander and Inez Nelson Williamson, and died January 17, 2017.

She was a homemaker, and a gifted seamstress for generations of satisfied clients, even making the wedding dresses for all four of her children's weddings. Rachel was a member of Center Point Baptist Church, where she took great joy in singing in the choir for many years. She was also a member of Center Point Ladies' Union.


She is predeceased by sisters Mary Adams, her twin Ruthie Mae Queen, Kanzazy Adams, Lola Pratt, and Baby Carrie, and brothers Russell, Leander, and John. She is also preceded in death by beloved granddaughter Caitlin Cremeans.


She is survived by her husband of 56 years Alvin "Spud" Watts, three daughters, Patricia (Tom) Gallagher of Barboursville, Rhonda (Terry) Cremeans of Branchland, Helen (Barry) Applewhaite of Triangle, VA, one son Alvin Watts II of West Hamlin, and one brother, Roby Williamson. She is also survived by grandchildren Janette Cremeans (Jared), DeeDee (Dustin) Wiblen and her daughters Alexis and Abigail, and Tyler Watts.


Visitation will be at Center Point Baptist Church in West Hamlin on Friday, January 20, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral will be at the church on Saturday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Watson Cemetery.
