Ray Harold Bennett, 71, of Danville, WV passsed away December 11, 2021.
He was born March 14, 1950 to the late Robert and Mary Frances Bennett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Raymond, Luther, Johnny, Cebert, Ishubal, and Jerry Bennett; three sisters, Ida Anderson, Ethel Coon, and Martina Walls; and two grandsons, TJ Ray (8/30/2021) and Devin Ray (11/7/2009).
He was a retired coal miner and a member of Local 781 UMWA.
He is survived by his three daughters, Allison Gionet and husband Joe of Dunn , NC, Renee Bennett of Coats, NC and Carol Bennett of Troutville, VA; one brother, Bobby Bennett; three sisters, Christine Starke, Judy Ratcliff and Hazel Kuhn; four grandchildren, Sebastian Bennett of Lillington, NC, Taylor Williams of Coatz, NC, Trey Gionet, and Ashley Gionet both of Dunn, NC; four great grandchildren, River Ray of Dunn, NC, Mila Bennett of Lillington, NC, Ezra Bennett of Lillington, NC and Juda Bennett of Lillington, NC; special friends, Emory "Curly" Carter and Ida; and special nephews, Kenny Kuhn Jr. and Keith Kuhn; Jamie Bennett, Michael Bennett, David Bennett, and Timmy Bennett, Luther Bennett Jr., John-John Bennett, Ray-Ray- Bennett, Lisa Bennett Elswick, Bobby Bennett Jr.; special nieces, Kathy Parsons, Lois Ann Wagner, and Tina Louise Harshbarger.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with Mark Agailar and Jimmy Carter officiating.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until service time.
