Ray Emerson Elkins, Jr., 75, of Danville, WV passed away January 20, 2014 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston after a long illness.
He was born November 1, 1938 in Prenter, WV to the late Ray and Myrtle (Anderson) Elkins. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Jean Elkins; two sisters, Patsy Bartrum and Nora Jean Mason; and two brothers, Terry Lee and Leroy.
He had worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and Blacks Foodland. He was a resident of Black Diamond Arbors of Danville. He was a Christian. In his pastime he loved collecting Die Cast Cars and listening to Bluegrass music.
He is survived by a stepson, Robert (Angela) Berry; step-daughter, Rhonda Adkins; and step-grandson, Richard Adkins; three brothers, Leonard of Cleveland, Ohio, Bobby Elkins of N. Ridgeville, Ohio and Michael (Kathy) Elkins of Bob White; four sisters, Shirley Williams of Connecticut, Lois Sticklo of Cleveland, Ohio, Lola Cook of N. Ridgeville, Ohio and Judy Hall of Madison; his sister, Annita Musto Price has been missing since May 30, 1974, her whereabouts at this time are unknown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Danville Memorial Park, Danville with the Rev. Phil Rowe officiating.
