Rex Eugene Angel

Rex Eugene Angel, 72, of Julian, WV, passed away on January 26, 2025.

He was born June 20, 1952 to Harvey and Betty Angel. He started in July 1971 with the Department of Highways and retired in March 2008. His co-workers were friends that he considered family. Rex was a pastor for Plainview Church and Jordan Mound throughout his life. 

Rex was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Angel; and siblings Buck Angel, Donna Pauley (Ray Pauley), and Becky Angel (Eddie Lacy).

Rex is survived by his wife Rebecca Angel; father Harvey Angel; his children, Tiffany (Cheyanne Sadler) Angel and Rex (Machaela) Angel Jr.; as well as his grandchildren, LJ Fooce, Kaley (Josh) Ball, Kaya Angel, Brexton Fesperman, Crystal Hager (Henry), Becca Lambert (Jonathan), and Kimberly Workman (Nick). He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Aria Ball and Adalyn Ball; siblings Gail (Stacey) Staats, Judy (Jimmy) Bays and Brenda Angel and those he considered like children: Buddy (Linda) Lovejoy, and Joey Lovejoy (Patti Lovejoy Henke) and Penny Kinder; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 1, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Chuck Gillispie officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior. Burial will follow in Angel Family Cemetery in Julian, WV with pallbearers; Josh Sharps, Travis Long, Sierra Fry, Levi Staats, Steve Pauley, Joey Lovejoy, and Buddy Lovejoy.
