Richard B. Wilburn of Julian, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 20, 2018. He was born to the late John P. and Inez (Martin) Wilburn on January 17, 1942.
Richard was a born-again Christian and a member of Pinnacle Church at Julian. He was also a retired coal miner and worked for Eastern-Peabody Coal for 25+ years, and a member of U.M.W.A.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Bill, Lee, John P. Jr., and Frankie Wilburn and sisters Louise Pauley, Darlene Wilburn, Ada Lou Harless, Tootsie Miller, Bessie Wilburn, and Mona June Pauley.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Sandra J. Wilburn; sons, Richard Gary (Tammy) & Timothy Brian (Julie), of Julian, and Steven Ray (Charlena) Wilburn of Foster; daughters, Stephanie Ann Wilburn & Jamie Lynn (Kyle) Breedlove, of Julian; sister; Nancy (Billie Ray) Gillenwater, of Sumerco; grandchildren, Richard Joseph, Justin, Matthew, Kristen, & Tori Wilburn, Darian Vance, and Trey & Tucker Breedlove; great grandchildren, Olivia, Reagan, Paiton, Matthew Jr. and Alyah Wilburn; along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 23 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Charles Gillispie and Evangelist Joe Prichard officiating . Final internment will be at Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
