Rickey Allen Cook 60 of Madison, WV (formally of Twilight) passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 after a long illness.
Rickey was born August 25, 1959 to Magalene (Beard) Cook. He lived most of his life in Twilight, WV.
Rickey was an electrician for 27+ years. He worked at Peabody Big Mountain #16 mine and was a member of the UMWA, Local 6426. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, (he owned many throughout the years), until his health declined, and was a member of the BOTW for many years. He went by the nickname “Smiley”. He was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert and Kathleen Beard, and lot of aunts and uncles, whom he thought of as siblings.
He is survived by his daughters; Misty Bowling (Larry) of Madison, Stacie (Bill ) Acord of Lynco, and Brenna Cook, six grandchildren; Cody Hammond (Kali), Colton Hammond (Anna), Brandon Bowling, Haylee Bowling, Livvie Acord and Logan Acord, four great-grandchildren; Colt, Paisley, Silas and Cohen, two sisters; Beverly Cook of Gastonia, NC, and Debbie Linville of Peytona, WV.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Steve Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Mid-Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, WV.
Friends may one hour prior to the service.
