Ricky Wilburn Backus, 58, of Danville, WV died Tuesday, July 26, 2016.
He was born March 30, 1958 and was a son of the late Homer and Magalene Backus. He was also preceded in death by his brother Christopher Backus; daughter Crystal Dawn Backus; and nephew Joseph Backus.
He was a coal miner from Bethlehem Steel.
He is survived by his son, Ricky Backus Jr.; daughter, Tawnya Nichole Backus; three grandchildren, Charles Austin Backus, Sydney Nichole Chambers and Alexis Lynn Chambers; one great-granddaughter, Lillith Raylynn Backus; two sisters, Retha Backus and Trena Epling; and one brother, Ronald Backus.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Mark Wheatley and Frank Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
