Robert “Bobby” Lee Pauley 65 years young passed away surrounded by his greatest blessing of all, his family, at his residence in Danville, WV, on February 21, 2013 after an extended illness.
Bobby was a son of the late Brady and Gladys Pauley. He was met at heaven’s gate by his parents; four brothers, Glen, Max, Ray and Freeman; and one sister, Jacqaline.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Madeline; his most cherished accomplishments, his children, Robert “Robby” Pauley (Katie) of Julian, Teressa Gibson (Rocky) of Danville, and Crystal Fowler (Bucky) of Chapmanville; grandchildren, Christopher and Blake Smith, Sydney and Hailee Pauley and Ceira and Hayle Fowler. He is also survived by one brother, Rexold Pauley of Charleston; one sister, Josephine Smith of Julian; several nieces and nephews; special great niece, Syvada; and also a host of family and friends.
He was a Vietnam veteran and was working at MIS Security before he became ill. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and grandkids. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
A special thank you for the Hospice nurses and Dr. James Stollings, that took care of Bobby and the family from Dignity Hospice in Chapmanville.
Thanks to everyone for all the prayers, cards, phone calls, visits and the food.
A very special thanks for Rev. Calvin Jackson for not only being his cousin and friend, but also for staying by his side and praying with him during his entire struggle with his cancer.
A tribute to Bobby’s life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Rev. Calvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville, with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post #5578, Madison, WV.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
