At the time of his death, Robert was the oldest living member of Bethlehem United Baptist Church at Raccoon Creek, WV where he was a faithful member after being saved in Detroit, Michigan in 1957. Every aspect of Robert’s life and works were a testament to his dedication to the Lord.
In his later years, Robert would say “if you live long enough, you’re gonna get old,” but he never let that slow him down. Robert was a lifelong farmer and raised a large garden each year up to his death. He also enjoyed working with cattle, harvesting hay and the occasional rabbit hunt.
While working of all the wonderful things one could say about Robert and his life’s works, a nephew summed it up best by saying “Robert was one of the best men I knew,” and he speaks of the opinion of many. Robert was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
