Robert Eugene "Bob" Peal

Robert Eugene Peal, 94, of Uneeda, WV passed away March 1, 2018.
He served in the US Navy during WWII. He made landings at Sicily, Salerno, Anzio, and Normandy. He was an elementary school teacher and principal in Boone County for many years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Madison United Methodist Church. He was a life member of Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison WV.

He was married to the late Jewell Mae Peal (nee Blake) for 67 years.

He is survived by his son, Mike Peal (Carol) of Bel Air, MD and his daughter, Mary Jewell Cox (Doug) of Uneeda, WV; grandchildren, Melissa Peal Davis(Byron), Megan Peal (Tim Offutt), Jaime Cox Strange (Manolo), Jill Barker, and Charlie Cox (Bernadette); great grandchildren, Manny, Oliver and Victoria Strange, Blake Zamora, Wyatt and Paisley Cox; a brother, Dilferd Peal of Hope Mills, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Rev. Rick Swearengin officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville with graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 of Madison, WV.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
