Robert Austin Schultz, 64, of Sharples, WV went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2017.
Bob was a retired United Mine Worker with 33 years of service. He was a former Pastor of Ball Chapel Community Church and he was Residing Pastor of South Park Presbyterian Church of Charleston, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Roberta Schultz.
He is survived by his wife, Debra K. Schultz; two sons and daughters in law, Richard and Anna Schultz and Nicholas and Amy Schultz; three grandchildren, Kaytlin, Alia and Abel, Schultz; sister, Debbie Thompson; goddaughter, Heidi Doss; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob fought a long hard battle with cancer, but peacefully entered glory where he will receive the greatest healing of all. He wanted his family and friends to know he wasn’t a quitter and to never give up. He most certainly showed us all how to be strong and hold onto the faith even in the storm. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 11 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with his son Richie Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
