Rodney Gene Ferrell
August 16, 1951 — January 19, 2022
Rodney Gene Ferrell, 70, of Van, WV went home to the Lord on January 19, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elwood and Cora Lee Ferrell.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Rodney cared for his family and loved them dearly. He was a member of the UMWA and worked 38 years in the coal mines. He enjoyed taking pictures and looking at old coal camp photos.
Rodney will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Ferrell; his caring daughters, Melanie Ferrell of Van and Melinda Cook (Chris) of Van; his amazing granddaughters, Haleigh and Katelynn of Van; brother, Timmy (Renee) Ferrell of Madison; sister, Teresa (Ronald) Sands of Rock Creek.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Boone Memorial Hospital for the family oriented and excellent care of Rodney. We are so thankful for the care you gave our loved one.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23 at Handley funeral Home in Danville, WV with Timmy Spratt officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road, Madison, WV.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.
