Rodney Dale Vance

January 29, 1958 — December 26, 2016

Rodney Dale Vance, 58, of Branchland, WV born January 29, 1958, went home to be with the Lord Monday December 26, 2016.

Rodney was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at East Fork Freewill Baptist Church, inspiring coach, loving husband, beloved father and grandfather and a dear friend to many. He worked for over 35 years at J.H. Fletcher and company and built lifelong friendships and acquaintances He had a love for helping neighbors and friends whenever he could and lead a Christian life by example.

He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Vance Jr. and mother Betty Jane Blankenship Vance and beloved brother Mitchell Lee Vance.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Jeanne Mounts Vance; two children, Aaron (Sarah) Vance and Rebecca (John) Roy, all of Branchland. He left behind five treasured grandchildren; His "Big Guy” Nathan Vance and four “Salcats” Marlee Vance, Abby, Macy and Ivy “Dale” Roy, as well as a brother, Ernest Ray (Linda) Vance all of Branchland and a host of nieces and nephews whom he cherished. He will be missed sorely by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday December 30, 2016 at East Fork Freewill Baptist Church, Ranger, WV. The burial will follow in the Frye-Nelson Cemetery, Ranger.

There will be a visitation Thursday December 29, 2016 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV from 6pm to 8pm.
