Roger "Lefty" Jones

Roger “Lefty” Jones 71 of Danville, WV went home to be with the Lord after a long battle of illness on Monday, January 15, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Boyd and Opal Jones, his sister; Louis Ann Jones, and his brothers; Howell Jones, Douglas Jones, Charles Jones, Johnny Jones, Tommy Jones and Paul Jones.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years; Donna Sue Jones, his two daughters; Tammy (Eric) Kennedy of Foster, and Tiffany Nunnery of Danville, grandsons; James Skylar Cooper and Samuel Ethan Nunnery, a granddaughter; Kyleigh Marie Nunnery, sisters; Lyda (Weldon) Barker of Foster and Peggy (Gary) Setser of Wharton, and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Roger “Lefty” Jones worked as a coal miner 40 years retiring from Patriot Coal. He was a member of the UMWA and local #781. Roger was also a member of Odd Fellows Lodge of Madison #170.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with David Cook and Phil Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery, Danville, WV.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
