Ronald “Augie” Augustine 81, of Van, WV died Tuesday November 1, 2016 at CAMC Memorial. He was born February 9, 1935 a son of the late Victor and Dora Rogers Augustine. He was a retired electrician in the mining industry, a veteran of the Marine Corps, and a member of Gordon Union Church. He was also a machine shop owner and was well known for his woodworking ability.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by her brother Victor and sister Betty Jo.
He is survived by his wife Olive June Augustine; one son Dale Augustine and his wife Roberta of Van; three daughters and their husbands Madonna and Roger Hunter of Oxford, PA; Rhonda and the late Kenny McCoy of Kingsport, TN; and Kendra and David Gogas of Van; brother Gene Augustine of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
Ron was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. We will miss you, your charming smile, crazy dance skills, love for sweets, and the ability to make everyone laugh by saying what is exactly on your mind. You loved your family without limits and we loved you right back. You were the founder of fun! The world will never see the likes of Ronald Augustine again. You will always be loved and cherished.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Handley Funeral Home Danville with Rev. Roger Hunter, Rev. Phil Rowe, and Rev. Matthew Johner officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park Danville. Friends may call from 12:30 pm till service time on Saturday.
