Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Mitchell, 59, of Twilight, WV courageously lost his battle with cancer on March 15, 2014.
Ronnie had endured many physical hardships. At the age of twenty, Ronnie was in a near fatal motorcycle accident that eventually led to the amputation of his leg a the age of 37. Instead of giving up or feeling sorry for himself, he used his disability to encourage others. He raised his children with great love and enthusiasm for life. His determination and love of knowledge and education was witnessed and instilled in his three children who have all strived to be successful in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Josephine Mitchell of Twilight, WV; and his brother David of Dunbar, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna Jean of Twilight; and three children, Christopher Lee Mitchell of St. Albans, WV, Denise and Rocky Harless of Sumerco, WV and Brandie and John Baldwin of Madison, WV; grandchildren, Krista Mitchell, Tori Harless, Luke Baldwin and Jaxson Harless; sisters, Brenda and Fred Long of Canton, OH and Nancy Beard of Twilight.
