Ronald Ransom Wiley, 74 of Ranger, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born December 26, 1942 to the late Ransom Wiley and Mayme Taylor Wiley. He retired in 2004 after many years of dedicated service to the WV Division of Highways. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish, hunt, and ride his motorcycle. Many knew him as “Uncle Ron” and “the handiest of handymen”.
He is survived by the love of his life of 52 years, his wife, Florene Cook Wiley; his is also survived by his precious mother, Mayme Wiley; two children, Ronald Gene Wiley (Brandi) of Ranger, WV, and Angela Wiley Hay (Rick) of Ranger, WV; three grandchildren, Joshua Tomblin, Courtney Wiley, and Dustin Wiley; two brothers, Boyd Gene Wiley (Lorene), Roy Glen Wiley (Nancy); three sisters, Carrie Wiley Pervan, Rosa Wiley Crawford (Larry), Carol Wiley Smith (Eddie); and a host of nieces and nephews he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Michael Wiley, a niece Edie Faye Dalton (Wiley), a brother-in-law, Eli Pervan, and his father Ransom Wiley.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday April 3, 2017 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV, with Clifford Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Cemetery, Ranger, WV.
