Russell Wayne Hayes, 43, of Julian passed away March 18, 2014.
He was born August 10, 1970 in Madison and was a son of the late Jennings Jr. and Ruth Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Mickey Kowcheck.
He attended Scott High School. He was a preacher, construction worker and a coal miner until he became disabled. Russell had a love for the Word as great as his love for nature.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Rogers Hayes; step-son, Tyler Roger of Julian, daughter, Ruth Hayes of Julian; son, Aaron Hayes of Julian; sister, Diana Kowcheck (deceased husband Mick Kowcheck) of Camp Creek; and two brothers, Thomas (Brenda) Hayes of Madison and Stephen (Brenda C) of Camp Creek. Russell is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Johnny Rogers (deceased wife Katherine), Billy Bell and his wife and Sidney Blevins and wife Crystal; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Blevins and husband Toby and Ivy Upright and her husband. Russell was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all.
Services will be 11 am Friday, March 21, 2014 at Pinnacle Block Church, Julian with Pastor Chuck Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Julian. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
