Sadie Mae White, 72, of Ottawa went home to the Lord on March 17, 2020, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Sadie was born January 7, 1948 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Robert and Tishie (Bryant) Carter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved son Sonny Ray White; one brother Lester Ray; and two sisters Yvette McFadden and Mabel Ferrell.

Sadie had a voice like an angel and would sing with her sisters – the most beautiful sound to hear. She adored her parents and especially her daddy who called her “Sadie Punkinseed”. Her biscuits and gravy and beans and taters were her children’s favorites.

She leaves behind her longtime companion Terry Anthony; one son Jesse Dale White Jr. (Lisa); and one daughter Vonnie Lynn White; four grandchildren Jason White (Rebecca), Jocelyn Bender (Travis), Jessica Boggs (Ryan), and Rayland Wesley Marcum; four great-great-grandchildren Lilly Boggs, Jackson White, Leighton Boggs, and Layla White; five sisters Bettie (Gary) Moore, Ida (Roger) Walls, Martha (Roger) Frye, Debbie (Stacy) Dingess and Patricia (Clarence) Lee; four brothers Bill (Betty) Carter, Bobby (Donna) Carter, Alvin Carter and Alton Carter.

Private family service to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Roger Frye officiating.
