Sarah Ann Elliott, 64, of Branchland, WV, a loving mother and grandmother left this world for a better home with her Heavenly Father after a long battle with lung cancer on Monday, April 13, 2015 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV.
A daughter of the late Ernest C. and Delores Richmond Elliott of W. Hamlin, WV. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of over 20 years, Virgil Hanshaw; two sons, Roscoe Eugene Elliott and Roger Dale Elliott; two brothers, William Elliott and John Elliott; one sister, Carolyn Elliott; and one granddaughter, Tammy Elliott.
She was a member of the Fundamental Christian Church in Varney, WV.
She is survived by two children, Virgil Lee (Charlie) Elliott and wife Marie, Debbie Parsons and husband Mike; six grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Elliott, Anna Marie Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Keith Vance, Nichole Porter, and Michael Parsons and one great grandchild, Jodi Rian Porter, all of Branchland, WV; four brothers, Clifford Elliott of Huntington, WV, Kensey Elliott of Chesapeake, OH, Marty Elliott of Mt. Olive, WV and Wendell Elliott (Crystal) of Branchland, WV; four sisters, Ella Marie Long (Jim) of Cool Ridge, WV, Rose Estep of Branchland, WV, Virgie Whisnant (Eddie) of Lenoir, NC and Mary Beth Elliott of Huntington, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her best friend and loving caregiver Mrs. Beverly Richmond of Ranger, WV for all her love, friendship and compassionate support of Sarah.
Services to honor and commemorate the life of Sarah will be conducted at 3 pm Thursday, April 16, 2015 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, W.Va with Pastor, Rev. Jay West, presiding.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
