Sharon J. Porter 37, of South Point, Ohio defeated her seven year battle with cancer and is rejoicing with the angels in heaven on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. She was born February 14, 1977 a daughter of the late William Sydenstricker and her mother Carol Grimm Scarberry. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather and grandmother Ernie and Mary Grimm, and father-in-law Calvin Porter. She was an office manager for Mt. State Center.
In addition to her mother she is also survived by her husband Phil Porter; daughter McKayla Porter; sister Shirley Sydenstricker; half sister Jackie Scarberry; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Tom), Diana (Michael), Phyllis (Don) Porter, and Sharon Hatfield; mother-in-law Vernie Porter; step mother Helen Sydenstricker; MaMaw Jean; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday November 23, 2014 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Jimmy Adams and Lonnie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Porter-Hatfield Cemetery, Branchland, WV. Friends may call two hours prior to service on Sunday.
