Sherry Lynn Setser

Sherry Lynn Setser, 75, of Beckley, WV, formerly of Barrett, WV entered her Heavenly home Saturday, January 6, 2024 surrounded by love, following a short illness.

Born June 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Opal Chambers.  She was also preceded in death by the love of her life and father of her children Larry Rudolph Setser; as well as brothers Don and Paul Chambers; sister Virginia Varney; and niece Susan Varney.

Sherry was a 1966 graduate of Scott High School and still looked forward to their annual reunions.  She was a teacher at Van High School for 25 years where she made countless lifelong friends through her love and devotion to her students and co-workers.

As a devout Christian, Sherry was a kindhearted and generous woman who cared so deeply for others and will leave a legacy of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Sherry’s greatest love was her family and those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Larry Allen and wife Jenny of Sissonville, WV, Kevin Bruce and fiancée Jonah Barena of Beckley, WV, Brian Keith and Julie of Rock Hill SC, and honorary daughter, Joni Kuhn and Ronnie of Ghent, WV; and grandchildren, Jarrett Allen Setser, Dana Holliday, Jennifer Miller, Harrison McTarsney, Lawrence, Lance and Vinz Repollo, John Robert and Brian Lukas Setser, Chase and Ashley Killough, Josie Lynn and Logan Blaine Kuhn.  Sherry was also survived by several great grandchildren as well as brother Bob Chambers and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Chip Frame officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park on Indian Grave Road, Danville, WV.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers Sherry's family kindly requests donations be made to the Barrett Church of the Nazarene Youth Fund.
