Stanley M. Adams

Stanley M. ‘Butch’ Adams, 69, of Wharton, WV died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 with his loving wife at his side. Born on July 20, 1953 in Paintsville, KY to Earchil and Tilda Vanhoose Adams. Butch was a loving husband, father, and papaw and enjoyed spending time with his family. He attended Van High School and worked as a coal miner for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earchil and Tilda Vanhoose Adams, daughter Christy Adams. Son Robbie Adams, brothers; Eddie Adams and Mike Adams, and a sister Phyllis Baker.

Those he left behind include his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra S. ‘Sue’ Hall Adams, sons; Cody and Danny Adams, daughters; Nelly and Gabi Adams, two grandsons; Dylan and Gunnar Adams, sister; Clotrean (Carl) McDavid, Debbie (Doug) Williams, Janet Smith, and Maulddeen (Steve) Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Rev. Steve Burns and his friend Paul Vance, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Low Gap Road, Madison, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
