Stanley Meeks, 66, of Madison was born August 8, 1949 and passed away December 7, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Meeks and his mother, Ganeva Bailey; brother, Gene Meeks; and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Peytona Southern Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patty" Meeks of Madison; daughter, Melissa Dotson of Madison; son, Thomas Dotson of Madison; brother-in-law, Terry Perdue of Nellis; three granddaughters, Trina, Carrington and Cassidy; one grandson, Austin; sisters, Magie Holt and Jewell Hofacre, both of Navarre, Ohio, Fatima McGill of Ashland, KY and one sister from WV; brothers, Bill Meeks of Mechanicsville, VA and Everett Meeks of Chester, WV.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 10 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Danny Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
