Sue Grass Parsons, 72, passed away October 21, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sue was the daughter of late Richard and Beatrice “Bea” Grass. After graduating from Duval High School in 1960, she married her husband of 47 years, Ralph Nello Parsons. They raised wonderful sons together in their West Hamlin and later Salt Rock homes.
Sue and her family moved to Aiken, South Carolina for 25 years. After retiring from Bechtel; Sue and Nello moved back home to West Hamlin. Sue was thrilled to be among her church family at Center Point Baptist, reconnecting with old friends, and spending time with family.
Sue was a precious soul. She was always smiling and laughing. Anyone that knew her was blessed. She has strong faith and said that she hoped her battle and undying faith could lead someone to God. That is who she was, always giving to others.
Sue was survived by her husband Nello; sons and daughter-in-laws, Michael and Monica of Augusta, GA, Steve and Judy of Elizabethtown, KY, and Greg and Holly of Salt Rock; brother Wayne and Patricia Grass; sisters, Jane Hart, Linda and Charles Smith, and many nieces and nephews. The love of her life were her grandchildren; Jackson, Maxwell, Ava, Matthew, Nolan, and Christian.
Viewing will be held Friday, October 24 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral services will be at Center Point Baptist Church in West Hamlin at 2pm Saturday, October 25. The burial will be in the May Cemetery, Griffithsville, WV.
