Teresa Lynn Brown

Teresa Lynn Brown, 66, of Peytona, WV, beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away January 6, 2025.

Teresa was a compassionate soul whose heart overflowed with love, particularly for her family. She took pride in watching her grandson, Brantley, grow and achieve remarkable milestones at such a young age. Her role as a supportive mother to her daughter, Brittany McCallister, was marked by unwavering belief and encouragement, as she constantly reminded Brittany of her boundless potential, serving as her biggest cheerleader.

She had a profound sense of responsibility for the welfare of stray animals, making sure that none went hungry under her watch. This gentle act of compassion spoke volumes of her character, reflecting a life dedicated to care and kindness.

Teresa is survived by her husband, James Ray "Jim Bob" Brown; daughter, Brittany (Justin) McCallister; her cherished grandson, Brantley; mother Yvonne Halstead; brother Billy Halstead; and sister Beverly Fitzwater. 

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Halstead; sisters Kathy Weaver and Donna Keffer, and her brother Eddie Halstead.

Services will take place at 2:00pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Randall Kinder officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Barker Cemetery in Ashford, WV.
