Thelma Kay Abshire, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Halls Assisted Living in Huntington, WV. She was born April 3, 1942.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Goldie Turner; brothers Edward Turner, Richard Turner, Bobby (Marci) Turner; and her infant son, Andrew Abshire.
She is survived by her daughter Mellisa Abshire of Madison, WV; Granddaughter Haley Abshire of Morgantown, WV; sisters, Karen (Buddy) Myhneir of Hanson, KY, Lana (Jim) Kirk of Ripley, WV and Phyllis (Lester) Thompson of Ridgeview, WV; cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews and was a dear friend to many.
The family would like to thank Halls Assisted Living for their love and compassion shown to Kay over the last 6 years.
Funeral will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 31, at Handey Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Michael Thompson officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to service. The burial will be at Hill Cemetery, Julian, WV following the funeral services.
