Thursy Baker

Thursy (Frasher) Baker, 86, beloved wife and devoted mother, passed from this life July 1st, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Garland and Letha Frasher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by infant son Bobby Bruce; grandson Kelly Sallee; brothers Robert Frasher (Wanda) and Donald Frasher (Gertie);and sisters Helen Bash (Gorman) and Eula Whitaker (Bruce).
She is survived by her husband Cebern of Branchland, WV; children Adeline Roberts (Rocky), Janette O'Neil, Lewis Baker (Kim), Donald Baker (Jan), and Teresa Baker; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers Garland Frasher (Beth Ann) and John Frasher (Jennie).
As a coal miner’s daughter, Thursy was passionate about preserving West Virginia's hills and families. She possessed an extraordinary green thumb, tended her flower gardens with expert care and for thirteen years shared her knowledge through the Gardening and Yardening column in the Lincoln Journal.
Service will begin at 12:00 Noon, Sunday July 3, 2016 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. Burial will follow in Sanders-Shuff Cemetery, Branchland.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
