Tommy D. Dooley, 65, of Madison went to sleep and left this world on October 24, 2016 at home. Born May 20, 1951, Tom was preceded in death by his beloved parents Cecil and Edith Dooley and his daughter Shereea.
Tom was a wonderful man and this world will be a far less good place without him. His love of fishing, golfing and softball filled his life with happiness, friends and love for him and all those around him. Tom was a man of great character who was old school in the way he lived and loved. Anyone who had the honor of sharing his life was better just for knowing him.
He leaves behind to honor his memory his wife Lisa who will keep and love him for the rest of her life; his brother, Joe (Katy) of Hurricane; his sons, Josh (Nikki) of Madison, his namesake Tommy in Morgantown; the apples of his eye his beautiful granddaughter, Ava Ruth and grandson, J.O.; his niece, Susan (Scott) and their children and niece Natalie; and nephew, David (Anna) and their children and nephew, Joey (Darby).
Tom was full of life and light and everyone who spent time with him heard a story of his childhood in Twilight or a story that would leave everyone laughing until tears streamed down your face. He has friends too many to name but made each one feel like the most important person in his life.
Luke 6:45"The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good” and that is exactly how Tom Dooley lived his life, bringing forth all that was good.
His nephew, Pastor David Dooley will hold the services at Handley Funeral Home in Danville. The viewing will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with the celebration of his life beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you pay forward and help someone who is a little less fortunate in Tom’s honor.
