Verna Marie Loftis, 86 of Gordon went home to be with her Savior on August 12, 2017 after a seven week battle with Glioblastoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Eugene Loftis.
She was a member of Gordon Union Church. She will be remembered for her love of her family and for her selfless devotion to homeless dogs and cats. They had no greater champion than her.
Surviving her are sons, Doug (Brenda) Loftis of Charleston and Phil Loftis of Gordon; daughters, Sandra (Teddy) Thompson of Gordon and Kim (Marc) Lowe, with whom she made her home, also of Gordon; grandchildren, Charlie Loftis of Logan, Kristen and Shawn Loftis of Van, Teddy (Lorie) Thompson of Blacksburg, VA, Andrew (Karrie) Lowe of Ashford and Aaron (Brittany) Lowe of Emmons; Great grandchildren, Christie Yeager of Charleston and Grace Lowe of Ashford; Great great grandchildren, Jackson and Keegan Mills; several nieces and nephews and very special granddogs Deacon and Daphne Lowe.
“If ever there comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.”
The family would like to express the deepest appreciation to Kevin Hill for all the love and care he has shown our mother.
In accordance to her last wishes, there will be no services.
