Vernon "Gene" Halstead

Vernon "Gene" Halstead, 75, of Charleston, WV passed away on September 3rd, 2022 after a long illness. Gene was born on July 13, 1947 to Bernard and Cephie Halstead in Drawdy, WV.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Cephie, sister, Betty Adkins, and brothers, Charles, Delmer, and Richard of Peytona.
He is survived by wife, Jean, and son, Tyler of Big Chimney, WV. He is survived by two daughters, Trina Withrow and Teri Halstead. He is survived by two brothers, Henry and Elmer of Peytona, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Stevie Cox officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
