Violette Mabel Greene

Violette Mabel Greene, 95 of Madison died February 18, 2016. She was born July 27, 1920 in Boone County, a daughter of the late Ernest and Della Lewis. Mrs. Greene has been a prominent business owner in the community since 1956 where she owned and operated the Homestead Motel. She was a member of the Madison Church of Christ and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was loved and respected by her family and many friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Joe Lewis and her sister Lorene Jarrell.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Glenna Greene Chambers and Jackie of Covington, VA; Marion Greene Kinder and Kermit of Charleston,; Sharon Greene Weaver and Roger of Madison; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister Majel Bloom of FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal visitation. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, Feb. 20 at Memory Gardens Madison with Evangelist Richard Runyon officiating. Handley Funeral Home Danville is in charge of arrangements.
