Virgil Dallas Baisden, 78, of Danville, WV, passed away on December 3, 2024 at his home with his wife and children by his side.
Virgil was born January 19, 1946 in Madison, WV. He was the son of the late Virgil and Mildren Baisden of Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Emmett Bennett.
Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dale (Bender) Baisden; sons Virgil and Melody Baisden of Madison, WV and Donald and Melissa Baisden of Chapmanville, WV; daughter Linda and Terry Arthur of Danville, WV; brother Danny and Sandi Baisden of Robinson, WV; sisters Lois and Bernie May of Danville, WV and Sharon and Frank Burleson of Indiana.
Dallas had 10 wonderful grandchildren, John and Amanda Baisden of Man, WV, Matthew and Shelley Arthur of Low Gap, WV, Trista Arthur of Lick Creek, WV, Summer Baisden of Low Gap, WV, Dalton Baisden of Chapmanville, WV, Brayden Hager and Cameron Hager of Chapmanville, WV, David Fennessy of Madison, WV, Zach and Sahrah Elswick of Greenbrier, WV, and Coltin and Jada Damron of Madison, WV. He also had 8 great-grandchildren, Mason Arthur of Low Gap, WV, Parker and Oaklynn of Putnam County, WV, Tucker, Brooke, and Colton Baisden of Man, WV, and Karson and Kolten Elswick of Greenbrier, WV.
Dallas was an Army Veteran. When he returned home, he worked for the railroad company and for Ferrell Coal Mine. Dallas treasures in life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed four wheeler riding on Hobet, building fires, and listening to music. He loved spending time in his building working on chainsaws, weed eaters, and anything he could get his hands on. He was a strong, kind, sweet, generous, caring man with a heart of gold. Dallas didn’t know a stranger. Dallas knew everyone and everyone knew Dallas. He had a favorite saying, which was “dog burn.”
Dallas will be missed by so many.
Funeral services for Dallas will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 at 2:00pm at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV. Visitation will be Friday, December 6th from 6:00-8:00pm. Burial to follow at Family Gardens in Madison, WV.
