Virgil Berry, 88 years old, of Danville, WV passed away on January 30, 2024 at CAMC.
He was a member of the Mud River Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his soul mate and loving wife, Lizzie Berry. After her death it seemed like dad’s whole world had change. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Oley and Polly Berry, seven brothers and sisters, daughter, Annabell Meadows; sons in law Rodney Meadows and Robert Bias and daughter in law Sonja Berry.
He leaves behind four children, Hazel (Wayne) McKinney, Connie Bias, Danny (Belinda) Berry and David Berry all of Danville, WV; six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild on the way.
Virgil was in the Timber Industry all his life. His passion was the mountains. He gave lots of young boys their first job and taught them to work and become good men.Then when it was time for him to step down and retire he left the company to his sons.
He was a loving, kind, and generous person who was always ready to help anyone.
The family wants to thank Gary Berry who was always there for Dad, a ride in the mountains when he was able or just sit on the porch and talk. He always looked forward to his time with Gary.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024 Danville Memorial Park, Indian Grave Road, Danville, WV with Gary Berry officiating. Friends may gather at 1:00 p.m. at the gravesite.
