Vivian Lee Smith

Vivian Lee Smith, 87, of Logan, WV passed away February 12, 2017 at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison WV.
She was a 1947 graduate of Logan High School and Marshall Teacher College. She taught at Earling Grade School and attended First Christian Church, Stollings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Smith; daughter, Cathy Goodwin; son Charles "Eddie" Smith; grandson Grant "Austin" Goodwin; parents, Phillip and Myrtle Nicely Stone; sisters, Phyllis Conner and Marlene Rennie; and a brother, Phillip Stone.
She is survived by her daughter/granddaughter, Dr. Courtney (K. Brian) Adkins of Charleston, WV; granddaughter, Adrienne Goodwin of Proctorville, OH; son-in-law, Grant Goodwin of Proctorville, OH; sister, Sue Ann Hiatt of Peterstown, WV; and great-grandchildren, Charles Adkins, William Adkins, Kate Adkins and Phoebe Adkins.
In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to Boone Memorial Hospital or Hospice.
A joint memorial service for Vivian and Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville WV with Pastor Jeff Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Logan, with Masonic graveside rites for Charles E. Smith.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
