Vonda Lou Kinder

Vonda Lou Kinder 70 born on groundhog day February 2, 1953, lost her battle with cancer July 27, 2023 and went home to be with Jesus and her family and friends.

She grew up in Nellis and attended Nellis Grade School and graduated from Sherman High School where she was on the yearbook staff and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a member of the Rumble Community Baptist Church where she loved to shine her light and sing her favorite song “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine”.

Scripture speaks to this song John 8:12 “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”. We all believe Vonda had the light and now has the eternal life.

A few years later she married, had two daughters and was blessed with two grandkids.  Along the way she worked as a store clerk at Costa IGA and worked cleaning houses which she enjoyed.  For several years she was a caregiver for her mom, dad and aunt. She enjoyed working puzzles, feeding and watching birds, growing flowers and of course spending time with her grandchildren.

She was an uplifting inspiration to those who knew her and will be missed by all. She was saved early in life and rededicated her life as a Christian at a later age.

She was preceded in death by her father Lorenzo D. Baldwin, mother Carrie E. Baldwin, brother Timothy L. Baldwin all of Nellis, WV and sister in law Sybil Baldwin of Ashford, WV.

Vonda leaves behind a family that loved her deeply, husband, Larry L. Kinder of Ashford, WV; daughters, Kelly M. Foster (Jay) of Peytona, and Heather N. Kinder (Nikki) of Ashford, WV; brothers, Richard D. Baldwin of Hernshaw, WV and Tony D. Baldwin of Ashford, WV; grandchildren Kendall Grace Foster and Caden Michael Foster several nieces and nephew.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Rumble Community Baptist Church, with Richard Harold officiating.  Burial will follow in Barker Cemetery, Ashford, WV.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Rumble Community Baptish Church.
