Walter Dennis Wilson, 87, of Danville passed away on November 14, 2013.
He was born September 10, 1926 and was a son of the late Okey Stanley and Maude Cook Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Wilson.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was a member of Mason 32nd Degree, Shriner and Eastern Star. He was a member of Greenview Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Wilson Family Bluegrass Gospel Group.
He is survived by his wife, Meda Ruthalea Wilson; son, Walter Wilson, Jr.; daughter, Helen Wilson; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with John Frame officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
