WANDA ADKINS MONDAY, 88, of Hamlin, WV, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015, in Lincoln Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born December 4, 1926, in East Liverpool, OH, to the late Roundy and Sybil Stowers Adkins.
She was a 1942 graduate of Hamlin High School, a homemaker, ten year employee of Demure Brassiere Company, and lifetime member of Hamlin Chapter #106 Order of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 65 years, Clarence E “Humpy” Monday, sisters Noca Hockenberry, Anna Sauer, and Lorraine Snodgrass.
Survivors include sister Irene Priestley and brother Ocie Darrell Adkins; daughters Nancy (Jim) Carr of Hamlin, Maggie (Greg) Ellis, of Branchland, WV; grandchildren LTC Jason (Jeri) Carr of Honolulu, HI, Jana (LTC Mike) Hummel of Ft Leavenworth, KS, Jamie (Danny) Harrington of Columbia, SC, Shelley (Randy) Kveton of Branchland, and Chip (Mimi) Ellis of West Hamlin, WV; great-grandchildren Jack Carr, Hanalei and Elyannah Hummel, James Robert Harrington due in October, Kenley, Kennasyn, and Kennedy Kveton, and Graysen and Zayden Ellis.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. A special thank you to Lincoln Nursing and Rehabilitation for all their compassionate and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hamlin United Methodist Church Building Fund, 349 Mansion St, Hamlin, WV 25523.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, with Dr. Robert Fulton officiating.
Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin.
Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin.
